Our Core Convictions: Boldly Defined
At Peters Creek Retirement Community, we hold a deep conviction in the vitality of the human spirit. We understand that every individual – regardless of their background, appearance, beliefs, affections, abilities, or age – is deserving of a life brimming with purpose, endless possibilities, and pure joy. For over three decades, our mission has been to revolutionize senior living, crafting exceptional, forward-thinking communities where individuals don’t just live but truly thrive. Here, the human spirit is celebrated and nurtured.
At Peters Creek, we champion the freedom to embrace life as you define it. Whether it’s embarking on an exhilarating adventure, getting lost in a captivating book, enjoying music in your unique way, indulging in tranquil morning meditations, learning something new at our engaging classes, or sharing laughter and stories with friends – it’s all about your choice, your way. And if what you seek doesn’t exist yet, we’re committed to making it happen.
Our approach challenges and redefines the traditional notions of ‘senior living.’ Beyond delivering outstanding care and service expected from a leader in our field, we offer award-winning culinary experiences crafted by top-notch chefs and hospitality experts. Our communities are more than just aesthetically pleasing spaces; they are homes designed to inspire a desire to live and enjoy every moment.
Our secret? It’s our people. A team that shares our vision and passion, who come to work every day driven by authenticity, optimism, and the gift of inspiring others to achieve the unimaginable. They place our residents at the heart of everything, fostering an environment of mutual respect, kindness, and, yes, love – elements that are essential to nurturing the human spirit. At Peters Creek, we don’t just offer a place to stay; we offer a vibrant community where life is cherished, celebrated, and always full of possibilities.
Carissa Brumell has been in senior living since 2011.
She has always
had a passion for seniors, being brought up by her grandparents on a farm in Missouri. It is only natural that she would continue her career in a
role that complements both her passion and education. Carissa obtained
her bachelor’s in health care management and her master’s in
business administration. Her success in leading teams and
providing the highest quality of care comes from her ability to focus on
excellence in customer service, personal contact with residents and their
families, tremendous work ethic, and determination to exceed
expectations. Carissa has three adult children, two grandchildren, and a 15-year-old lab, Link, who frequents the community as the director of hospitality. She enjoys all the PNW outdoor activities and spending time with her family and friends.
Rosemina Dela Cruz brings over 14 years of experience in healthcare.
Rosemina’s tireless dedication to residents and staff allowed her to work her way up from caregiver/medtech. She is completing prerequisites for LPN at Green River College. She works closely with the Director of Nursing, the resident’s medical team, and families regarding changes in care needs. She also helps to oversee caregivers. She values the importance of patient-centered care, and she enjoys working with the amazing care team to
ensure residents receive the best care possible. She has a passion for providing compassionate and quality care. Rosemina has two daughters; her youngest comes to her work occasionally, providing multigenerational enjoyment for residents. When she is not helping run the assisted living department, Rosemina enjoys spending time with her friends and family and loves to read and go on hikes.
Wanda Bynum has been a nurse for eleven years. She was born and raised in El Paso, TX where she completed nursing studies for LPN in 2012.
Over the eleven years of her nursing career, Wanda spent 8 of those as a home
health nurse. During her tenure in home health she specialized in direct
patient care, educating patients and families, and continuity of patient care.
In addition to home health, Wanda has experience in skilled nursing along
with long-term care. Wanda believes that being a professional nurse is to
provide patient-focused care for the whole person, considering their
physical, mental, and emotional health. When Wanda isn’t dedicating her
time to Peters Creek, she is spending it with her daughter that she relocated
from Texas to be closer to. She also enjoys going on outdoor adventures with her daughter and
exploring all the PNW has to offer.

Chef Jaime Curay brings over 30 years of culinary artistry to Peters Creek.
Jaime comes from Lima, Peru. He has been cultivating culinary
experiences for tech giants, high end restaurants, as well as senior
living. We are so fortunate to be able to share his talents with our
residents. Jaime’s passion for cooking comes from his family history,
Jaime’s family still owns and operates a restaurant in Callao, Peru.
He enjoys creating Mediterranean or Spanish dishes. He’s looking
forward to collaborating with the resident food forum to bring new menu items. When he’s not hosting marketing events or activities
or providing demos and tastings for our residents, he spends time
swimming and watching or attending sports with his son and friends.
Link has been frequenting senior living communities for over a decade.
He is a resident and guest favorite, often seen following Carissa, the
Executive Director, around the community. He is 15 years old and
enjoys the residents as much as they enjoy him. Pets in senior living
increase socialization, provide mood and memory stimulation, and bring comfort and joy. When Link isn’t working, he enjoys long
naps on his orthopedic dog bed, going to his favorite beach, snacking on some occasional treats, and just being in the presence of his people.
